Matt Black

Black Boiling Water Taps.

Black is back and is here to stay. Black taps, black appliances and black tiles are all the rage these days- but why? It’s easy to see that this dark hue has been fashionable in design for the last decade. From living room furniture to kitchen tiles and cabinetry, it’s impossible to avoid this dramatic shade when you’re scrolling through Instagram.

What better way is there to upgrade your kitchen space than with a hot water tap in matt black? Not only is this shade timeless – it’s also incredibly practical. Water spots or fingerprints will no longer plague your cleaning routine if you use black appliances, unlike plain chrome or steel, which means you can keep your kitchen looking pristine with minimal effort. Plus, it’s the perfect way to add a touch of luxury to your space without breaking the bank.

How does a boiling water tap work?

Hot water taps from Hanstrom use a boiler tank (provided), which fits in the cupboard below your sink. Don’t worry, at a height of just 315mm and a width of 210mm, they won’t take up your precious cleaning cupboard space. Despite its small size, the boiler can supply 2.4 litres of water, heated to between 75°C and 98°C, with a simple touch screen so you can adjust the temperature as required. 2.4 litres is often enough for 5-6 cups of water, and your boiler can get back up to temperature in around 5 minutes, making light work of your household jobs.

Choosing a tap spout type.

A black boiling water tap of any kind can inject contemporary charm into your kitchen, and ours are available in three different styles: swan, d-shape or pull-out, each with its own unique look. Our swan-shaped Ume and Storan taps offer a clean and classic appearance, while the d-shape spout of our Lunen tap can add an industrial edge to your space. The pull-out spout of our Aran tap is perfect for those who need a little extra flexibility when doing dishes, cooking or cleaning.

Speaking of flexibility, all of our models come with a 360-degree swivel spout so you can position it exactly where you need it. And our single-lever design makes it easy to control both the temperature and flow of water with one hand – perfect when you’re multitasking in the kitchen!

Is a boiling water tap safe?

Boiling water taps are often far safer than a kettle, which can be hazardous to operate and easily accessible to a child. Our taps will only dispense boiling water once the child-safe spring lock has been operated, which reduces the risk of little hands being burnt. The spout on our instant hot water taps also dispenses a steady stream – far better than the bubbling water that can come from a kettle.

We do suggest installing and testing your new boiling water tap with the support of a plumber, particularly if you have low or high water pressure. If you have low pressure, you will likely hear your boiler tap working a little harder to pull the water through the spout- this is totally normal!

Will a hot water tap waste energy?

An important concern of homeowners in this day and age is how much energy they consume. Whether it’s to save money or save the planet, cutting back on energy usage will keep your carbon footprint and your bills low. The beauty of boiling water taps is that their water supply stays at a consistently high temperature, unlike a kettle which needs to reheat every time. This makes them far more efficient if you find yourself using a kettle multiple times a day.
